She never strays away from any difficult or "taboo" topic and has had audiences captivated since her early days in Southern California. Her socially aware brand of comedy made her both a thought leader as well as a teacher to those with open minds and open hearts.
Cho has been referred to as the "Queen of all Media," because she has conquered television, film, books, and theatre. She's been nominated for best comedy album at the Grammys THREE TIMES! Her tours sell out (so get tickets ASAP!) and she has debuted in several off broadway plays. She started in TV on the show "All American Girl," followed by one of the first reality TV shows on VH1 entitled "The Cho Show." Her most recent television endeavor was Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" for all six seasons. She has come out with six stand-up special, one of which broke records for "most money grossed per print" for her special "The One That I Want." Her guest role has Kim Jong Il on 30 Rock earned her a nomination for "Outstanding Guest Actress."
Equally as important to her as her work in entertainment is the causes she is passionate about. Margaret has been widely recognized for her work in the non-profit sector, lending her name, time and tireless work ethic to several charities, especially those involving gay rights and anti-bullying campaigns. In every segment of her life, Margaret is honest, adoring, passionate, uproarious and always entertaining. Margaret Cho is at her very best.
