Here in Nashville we are fortunate to have a place where we can come together when we need to, and that place is OutCentral.
I heard about the Orlando shooting during an early morning meeting at church. Dazed, I sat in my car and cried. Then I thought, we need to come together. I called my Abbess, Sister Wendy, and she was thinking the same thing.
I messaged Brett Perkins, current chair of the OutCentral board, and asked him if OC was available that evening. We agreed on a time, and a few hours later over 300 people were packed in our community center and overflowed into the street.
When we, our community, needed a space, OutCentral was there.
It's asking a lot because we've been through a lot, and we've given a lot. But that's exactly why we need to take time to recognize our community center that's there for us when we need it.
I hope you can join us for July Sister Night, benefitting OutCentral.
Be love,
Sister Ann Wenita Morelove
